A fully equipped digital classroom – delivered, installed, in operation. Children at YB now have access to digital learning tools they never had before.
YB identified a clear need: digital literacy is a key requirement for South African youth, but the academy lacked any digital infrastructure. With a corporate partner, we structured the project end-to-end: needs assessment, vendor selection, hardware procurement, container conversion into a classroom, installation, and teacher training.
What was delivered: a converted classroom container with workstations, electricity, internet connectivity, and an introductory teacher training programme.

Girls at Young Bafana now have a dedicated space – their own changing room and gathering point. A small piece of infrastructure with a large effect on participation and retention.
Without a dedicated space for girls, female participation at YB was structurally limited. Girls had nowhere to change clothes, store belongings, or simply gather. This is a documented driver of girls’ dropout in sports programmes globally.
We worked with a partner to deliver a converted container as a girls-only changing room and gathering space. First milestone is delivered: the infrastructure is installed and in use. Programmatic build-out (workshops, mentorship rounds) follows.
