Personal perspective, observation and context. Not a pitch – this is how we look at the work. First-hand from the field.
A personal visit with partners to the township reveals the reality behind the projects — beyond data, beyond presentations.
Read story ↓Some moments are difficult to explain. You have to experience them.
This was one of those moments.
In January, we visited South Africa together with two partners — not as a typical business trip, but as something more personal. The goal was simple: to show what the work really looks like on the ground.
We spent time in Lwandle — a township in Strand, near Cape Town. A place shaped by history — and still defined by it. Many families live in limited conditions. Access to infrastructure, education and opportunities is often restricted. This is where many of the children in the program grow up.

We walked through the streets. Visited local markets. Entered homes. And at some point, something changed. Not because it became quieter — but because there was nothing left to say. Seeing how people live — not in numbers, but in reality — shifts perspective.

We also visited a local football match. For a moment, everything feels light. Children playing, laughing, competing. But at the same time, you know: after the game, many return to the same conditions. This is where sport becomes more than sport. It creates structure, safety and belonging.
Afterwards, we visited the academy and shared our projects and plans. But what mattered most was not what we explained. It was what had already been seen. Because understanding comes from context — not presentation.

Experiences like this are difficult to replace. Not everyone can travel or see these realities firsthand. That’s why our role is to make this context tangible. Not dramatized. Not simplified. But as it is.
At Verified Impact Advisory, we believe context is the foundation of credible decisions. Photos and field visits are not a marketing tool — they’re how we make sure that what we report actually reflects what we saw. When we describe a project, we describe it from this place. When we recommend, we recommend on this basis. Not from a slide deck. From the ground.
